Hound Viniagrette

Traditionally used in the 1800's as a container for smelling salts or sweet smelling fragrance, Viniagrettes were usually made in fine silver or more rarely, fine bone china. Beautifully sculpted and hand painted in the form of a hound's head, the viniagrette features an ornate gold plated brass bezel set with a decorative pierced fine bone china hinged lid. The Hound measures 4.9" long and 2.75" wide.
