In mythology, white horses have always been believed to possess exceptional properties that transcend the normal world. White horses were believed to be ridden by the heroic prince and the knight in shining armour. Even Pegasus and unicorns are considered to have been white. Anceient authors wrote about a white horse, so superior in size and speed that it caused a war. As it was being fought over, the stories tell of him riding a lightning bolt into the heavens where it was enshrined forever as the Celestial horse.
